Weaving The Nation's Future
Amar Chitra Katha’s ‘Kasturbhai Lalbhai - Weaving the Nation’s Future’ tells the story of one of India’s most visionary textile industrialists, who also played a key role in shaping the nation’s social and educational fabric.
A devout Jain, Kasturbhai Lalbhai lived with simplicity, discipline, and unwavering adherence to compassion. Saddled with the responsibility of running a business empire at a tender age, Kasturbhai was unable to complete his formal education. But that did not deter him from pursuing excellence, relentlessly. He established multiple noteworthy businesses, like Arvind Mills and Atul Products, and was instrumental in founding institutions like the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A), which reflected his vision of empowering youth with knowledge, discipline, and innovation. Even though he lived through tumultuous times marked by World Wars, India's freedom struggle, and shifting social realities, Kasturbhai led with intentionality, purpose, and a strong moral compass. Until his last days, he remained in selfless service to the nation, his people, and his beloved family.
